Lucy Walton

My name is Lucy Walton I live in Twyford with my partner John Bowley and my 3 children. Both my daughters have additional needs. Emma 22 has global learning and co-ordination delays as a result of brain damage prior to birth. Polly 19 is on the Autistic Spectrum has learning delays, and at times challenging behaviour.

By and large we manage to function well as a family but there are times when the going gets tough. I am keen to support others in a similar position and help to make a difference.

Judith Newman

Judith Newman

My name is Judith Newman.  I am a single parent with 3 children aged 19, 17 and  14.  My son James 17 was diagnosed with ASD aged 4½ and attends an Independent Special School in Godalming as a day pupil.  Getting his Statement of SEN and a place at an appropriate school has not been an easy ride.

Recently I have been working on the SEND Reforms and have gained a lot of knowledge on the proposed SEN Code of Practice.  I look forward to continuing to gather the views of parents to help shape the services available to our families.

John Bowley

My Name is John Bowley and I have two Children. Christopher is 19 and attends The Piggott School Wargrave. Chris has Aspergers and is supported both in school and at Scouts. Rachel is 16, has Downs Syndrome and attends Addington School. Both of my children have a lot to offer the world but I am only too aware though that society doesn’t make having a disability easy. Through REACH I would like to feel I can help and support others in a similar situation and make a difference.

Julie Monahan

Julie Monahan

Hi, I’m Julie Monahan.  I live in Earley with my husband and 3 children James, 20 and Tamsin & Rhianna, 17 year old twins.

Tamsin has severe physical disabilities and some learning disability.  She also has a severe facial disfigurement which has required multiple operations and suffers from epilepsy.  As a result we have had quite a bit of experience of hospital stays over the years.  Tamsin attends Treloar School in Alton as a weekly boarder. Having such a complex child, it has not always been easy to find appropriate services. I am passionate about helping to improve that situation so that all disabled children and their families can access the services they need.

Martin Jones

Martin Jones

My name is Martin Jones. I live my wife Vicky and our three children, Stephen 24, Katherine 18 and William 14.  Stephen has Aspergers Syndrome and William is on the Autistic Spectrum.  For a number of years we have been dealing with how autism affects our family’s life.  I want to help others and offer support where I can, as I feel that without the support we have received from other families who understand, we would be in a lot worse condition than we are.
